Overview
Norwich and Peterborough Building Society operate
over 70 branches across the east of England. Respected for its high standards
and good service, the firm won Best Commercial Mortgage Provider of 2005
from Business Moneyfacts.
The firm worked with Absolutely Training, turning
the impending implementation of mortgage regulation into an opportunity
for them to overhaul and update staff training and development resources.
Aim
Ruth Palmer, Norwich and Peterborough’s
head of training and development, knew the importance of online training.
The firm needed to absorb a 30 per cent rise in training requirements
with clear cost and time efficiencies.
The firm wanted new web based methods to absorb the pressure,
with more scope for knowledge acquisition than traditional tools.
Methods
Norwich & Peterborough introduced Absolutely
Training’s online training courses to prepare staff adequately for
live sessions.
Palmer says: “By engaging staff more effectively at the
knowledge acquisition stage of the learning process, we’re better
able to incentivise them into attending the live practice and skills development
sessions that drive home the key learning points introduced over the internet.”
Results
The introduction of web based learning
and testing has allowed Norwich & Peterborough to absorb increased
training demands at no extra cost. Other benefits include:
• Reduction in course preparation time
• Faster completion times of up to 100 per cent
• Fewer training drop outs
Conclusion
Norwich & Peterborough embraced regulatory
change and used it improve their entire training regime. If you want to
